Feel Like Complaining

So many kitty pics this week! I swear, that all I do at Julies, other than the usual. I try to do different things to make them cute though and even made a video this time. It's from a fun app called My Talking Pet Pro. These are some of the best ones. Jellybean and Fuzzball, the outside cats. The Cuddle Puddle and Amelia, first thing in the morning after I stayed over. I didn't get much closer than that before she bolted. Julie had a donor lined up with the transplant to take place on the 18th. I don't know what happened but now it's off and she has to wait for another donor. She might get to come home for awhile and although I'm sure she would love being with her daughter and kitties; it just means that her treatment would be delayed. It all just sucks! Other than this, I had a nice lunch with one of my HS friends that I saw in Odessa. We met up in Airway Heights because she wanted to see her grandkids in Spokane anyway. She told me the dates for the class reunion...

I got home Friday at 6:00 pm, got up at 6:00 the next morning to be out the door by 8:00. We still had to go through detours around main street to find a place to park. I knew my cousin was going to be there so we decided to meet up. It's not hard to do in such a small town (current population about 900); she was about a block away so she was easy to find. She's 6 years younger than I am and the only time we really saw each other is when our families were together. Her dad (my dad's brother) was an alcoholic too, so we shared the same struggles although maybe didn't realize it at the time. She's had a rough life and battled addictions many times before recovery stuck. I think she's been clean now for about 8 years. Her daughter followed in her footsteps but is now also clean.  We watched the parade and chatted for an hour, then she was heading back to Spokane to fly home to Hawaii on Sunday. I'm with Kody this week and it's been interesting. I brought him a toy from home and he loved it, but then it disappeared. He loves his ball more so I figured it was just under a bed or something. I looked behind the couch upstairs and down. I found another toy downstairs and again he was so excited. He brought it upstairs and out the door where he proceed to try and bury it. He caught me watching him, so brought it back in all dirty. That got me to thinking.....maybe mine is out there. I didn't have to walk far, where I found it buried next to a sprinkler head, almost fully covered with pine needles! He's very good at burying. It was soaking wet because the sprinklers had run that morning. He acted delighted that I had found it, but I had to wash it off first, and he will get it back when I'm darn good and ready to give it to him, ha! Look how sad he is, poor little guy. This Saturday we're going to Odessa for their 54th annual Deutschesfest. I was living there...

Yesterday Faith and I went to see the Hobbit House in town. We've heard of it for years but have never been to see it. Apparently, a family is into hobbits and have decorated the outside of their home with all things hobbity. They have put out all of their Halloween decorations in with everything else. As usual, I took too many pictures. They turn on lights at night, so we'll take the short drive to see that when we can.

I am just getting so clever with my titles! Friday and Saturday I stayed with Luka. We had to take our walks early because I'm sure he's with me and doesn't like the heat.  Tonight I'll be staying at Julie's and because of the heat, I'm not looking forward to it. The bedrooms are upstairs and I'm not so sure there are even a/c vents up there. I have bought sooooo many fans and they're all going with me!  I don't know everything, but I believe she has cancer and will be having a stem cell transplant. That won't happen until the 18th though. She has a super organized contact list of all of the people that will be coming to the house and the neighbors and how they will help out, and even her own caregiver and her mom's caregiver as well as ex husband. You know what they say; 'it takes a village', and I'm real happy to be a part of it. I've known her for about 8 years and although it's a working relationship, I care about her ...
