Feel Like Complaining

My eye surgery didn't happen on Monday which was very disappointing. Long story short; I was pre approved for the standard lens and because everyone's case is different, we thought the astigmatism lens would be better for me. My insurance has to deny the first one and then we can re-apply for the second one and adding on another procedure to each eye for my glaucoma. There are 2 different types of correction for that; both being very interesting, but we'll see which one my ins. will cover. I will  have to pay for the upgraded lens but I had planned for that anyway. We have kept my original 2nd eye appt. to now be my first and then make another one for the second. Makes perfect sense, right? It was such a long day with eye tests/scans, dilation/numbing drops; all for nothing. But at least that part is over and it will hopefully be a smooth day of surgery, whenever I do get there. We've had Chico with us for the past two weeks and he's been the usual good boy enjoying...

Last weekend I stayed with the last of the new clients I had booked several months ago.  Winnie, a Pitbull mix is the youngest of the group at 6 years old. She's very excitable and jumped on me constantly during the meet and greet and also when I picked up the key. I was told she loved to play ball in the back yard, but was more interested in the imaginary squirrel in the back corner and it was all muddy out anyway so that never happened. She did settle though and was mostly a couch potato with a sweet personality.  Comet (white dog) is an 8 year old Poodle Mix. He lived his first 2 years in the woods with a pack of small dogs; I can't even imagine. He's shy but warmed up quickly, I liked him a lot. Sprocket (black dog) is a 7 year old Maltese, Yorkie, and mix. He has pancreatitis which usually doesn't cause any problems but it sure did this weekend. These are the newest rocks I've done, all from my summer sitting gigs. I haven't been very good at dispersing them so have a small bucket full at home. The big oyster shell is in our bathroom.

Looking back to last year, I may not have made more than previous years but I sure drove more and added a lot of new clients. All in all, I: Drove 827 business miles, more than double from last year Met 23 new pets Was away from home for a total of 4.8 months Since I took on so many new clients, many of my older ones just couldn't get booked which made me apologize a lot and feel bad. I've turned off new clients for now to see if that helps. The nice thing is, I can switch things on/off to suit my needs and be as busy as I want. I would like to spend a little more time at home this year. Right now I'm back with Pippin and Chloe. It's so hard, with her being in diapers and roaming in circles whenever she's awake. He is a little better only wearing a diaper at night but if I don't get him out often he will pee on the floor. They sleep upstairs now and I sleep downstairs. The last couple weeks have been strange. I was supposed to go to Steve's on Christmas Eve day but their flight was cancelled like thousands of others. But their flight was cancelled because their pilot didn't show up. At least it wasn't a cruise trip because they would have missed out on that too, but still they couldn't do what was planned so I had extra time at home. I really enjoyed it but it just had me feeling out of sorts. I didn't even know what to cook for dinner because I had only made plans for myself for 10 days. They did finally get away for the New Year weekend and I'll be home tonight. Dixie is at our house for a week and she has grown so attached to me, that she breaks down the baby gate to the basement so she can sleep with me. Abe is feeling very displaced because Faith only lets him sleep with her on weekends so he had started sleeping with me.
