Feel Like Complaining

I had quite a brave moment this past week and joined  a group called The Ethels; named after the founder of AARP. I had seen ads on FB for a few years now but just recently saw a local Inland Northwest/Idaho chapter, so I joined. The group just hit 500 so it must be fairly new.  They do all sorts of things, like coffee outings, book club, playing Majong, walking in all areas of town, bingo, dinner, movies, and much more. I eased into it with coffee at a place very close to home. There were 17 in attendance, bigger than I expected. To say I was nervous was an understatement. I think 4 of us in this picture were new, so that helped. My biggest obstacle to events will be where I'm working; but I'll do what I can, when I can. While Faith was staying at Julie's, my bedroom was the only place accessible for Abe to find a human to wake up for breakfast. Unless Tony got up early, he was in my room causing havoc about 5:30. Neither room downstairs has a door so I thought a good solution was to get a sliding door like my former bedroom. It kept Abe out, only if I put a large object in front of the opening.  I ordered one (not the cheapest one, but close), and found a great video on YouTube to follow. There were a lot of steps but none seemed too difficult. As usual, Faith was my partner in construction. We did a lot of measuring and cutting with a hack saw (thankful to a worker who left one behind years ago and we didn't even know it until another worker found it recently). Faith mentioned during the process that I have never said Fu*% so many times in a day! I don't know where she gets her patience but it surely isn't me. I haven't sat for Angus for a long time. He does better around me but still most of the time I don't know what he wants. Abe really only meows when he wants food, but Angus is very chatty and I'm sure he's saying something important but I don't know what it is. He's not very active, although he has a million toys,  3 scratching posts, 2 tunnels and 5 huts all crammed into a small apartment.  This is the owner that has no microwave, coffee pot, wifi, or tv other than to play wholesome dvd's on. My saving grace, other than bringing my own coffee pot from home was to find an xfinitywifi pass; 30 days for 10 bucks. I can use it for 2 devices so I brought my computer and I was set. I'm coming back for a few days next month so this pass will carry me through then. I go home every day to shower and cook a meal that I can either eat for a late lunch or take back if it doesn't need reheating.  Sometimes it just needs a little re-thinking of what I need and ho...

Thursday as I was pulling up to Julie's to bring Faith dinner and take care of the cats before she got back from work; I just felt so weary. Not tired of helping Julie, just so tired of the schedule. Imagine 7 months of feeding, scooping, driving, unloading Chewy orders every 2 weeks, watering plants, cleaning, and replacing potty pads for dear Chloe who makes the box about 30% of the time. Plus, I miss my girl. Imagine my surprise when not even 10 minutes of getting in the house, Julie texted to say that her trial is going good and she will be able to finish treatment at home. Mostly because her insurance won't pay for treatment out of state, but probably she's also stable enough to do so. She will have to travel back to Houston once a month for check ups so we'll still get to see the cats now and then. I'm so freaking happy for them all! Her and her daughter will be home this coming Friday night and so Faith will be home that night too. At least it's her day o...
