Feel Like Complaining

This uber busy dog 'bout left his sitters dead. Sven is a Border Collie who had kind of a rough start in life, being found on the side of the road. A family took him in but didn't really have the time to spend with him. He then came to be owned by our client. He's a good boy, loving, well mannered, and very smart. But he's active, too active for these old people. I'm wondering if his owner is part to blame for him wanting  needing to play non-stop. I know Border Collies are busy little things and need to 'work', but I don't need a working dog. Just give me the normal dogs who loves walks, cuddles, playing, balanced with rest. Sven wants to play until the second he wakes up until he goes to bed. He sleeps maybe an hour total during the day. He doesn't play a lot by himself. When he does, it's to totally destroy toys just to get the squeaker out. One of his favorite games is to have a human flick the squeaker, over and over into infinity (see video...

 Faith and I FINALLY  got all of the soaker hoses laid in the front yard. Last summer I ordered 2 100ft hoses. Silly me thought that would be enough. We put those down late this spring. After realizing I needed more, the hunt was on. That business was out of stock so I found another one and ordered 5 25ft pieces. Surely that would do it! Nope, not enough and then they were out of stock. I ordered 2 50ft hoses and never received them. Tried again with same company and they were out of stock after I ordered so I'm done with them. I really liked the very first hoses which were gray but could never find them again. I eventually found a place with 50ft black, so ordered one.....again thinking it would be enough. I ended up getting 2 more from them and finally we made it to the end. We used an entire box of 100 6 inch staples to secure them in place. We probably have close to 500 feet of hose and needed to split the watering into 3 sections for better coverage. Basically I'm still a...

Last week we were actually busy. Tony and Faith had Chico back for 5 days and I spent 10 nights with Murray; aka Annabelle's cat brother. There was another cat, a black female named Tobie but she sadly died a month ago.  The house was pretty quiet as this is the first time I've stayed without Annabelle. I was a little nervous because I always am comforted by the fact that a dog will bark to alert of any problems. Murray is usually out catting around at night so he was no comfort. But he is a gentleman because we ran into each other in the hallway during the night and he walked me to the bathroom and then back to the bedroom where we cuddled paw in hand for a few hours. Plus, he is just so handsome that I had to paint a rock in his likeness. I think I nailed it!! I really enjoyed my stay; the longest one yet. As long as I was there for Murray's breakfast, dinner, and slept over, I was free to come and go. The past weekend was a little difficult because of all the wildfire sm...

We recently heard about this little falls area and since it's about 2 hours from home we made a day trip out of it. The falls is actually located at a rest area so we packed a picnic too. I know of no other rest area where you can go to the bathroom and see a cool waterfall; it's the little things that excite me, ha. I had bought Tony a cool little portable chair so he can sit when his legs go numb. No way was a walker going to make this trek. It's a short walk but some parts of the trail are really narrow and slightly precarious. I used one of his walking sticks which was helpful for walking the trail and getting part way into the water to take pictures. It was so green and peaceful and the only noise you could hear was the rushing of the water. There were about 6 picnic tables set in private little areas along the trail. Luckily one was right by the parking lot so we didn't have to walk far.  There's another falls area in Idaho, about 2 and-a-half hours away also...
