Another Favorite Repeat

Image
We got another favorite back last week. We haven't had Kuma with us for almost a year. Tony has done drop-ins for her at their home but it was nice to have her actually here. I had forgotten how much she reminded me of Nellie. Her sweet attention loving spirit just brightens our day. After hunting in the back yard, she found the same stick she played with during her last stay. She was digging in the same spot Nell used to. Ah, such great memories. Last week I had a M&G for a German Shepherd just to do once a day drop ins over four days. It was a little further from my service radius but I went anyway. What I didn't know is that the last 2.5 miles was a rutted gravel road. First I missed a turn because it wasn't marked. Then my gps kept telling me to do a u-turn. Really GPS lady? The roads are narrow so I just had to keep going and going until I could find a safe place to pull over. I ended up in another county!! When I finally got turned around I realized I wa...

Maverick And Rocks

Image
We had a repeat, Maverick, with us for an entire week. This meatball is just a great guy and fun to walk. I think Tony likes him because he's a great napper; them guys have to stick together you know. He's also a toy destroyer and a great kisser. And some of my recent rocks  keeping this one

Boscoe, Gracie and Angel

Image
Boscoe and Gracie's stay ended this past Thursday and I'm sure going to miss Gracie. She was the sweetest little thing and I loved carrying her around. I think I need one of those dogs that fit in a purse. He was a handful though; being only a year old, he was into everything. A long attention span is not his thing at all. His mind was here, there, and everywhere. It was hard to get pictures of him because he was rarely still. We had to take most toys away from him because he destroyed them. Faith and I went to a local pet store and bought a couple of Kongs; which I have never had before. They both loved them but he was always trying to steal hers. We also got 2 toys that were supposed to be tough. I love the instructions on them. They are tough when used as a toy, but not meant to be chewed on. Uh, I kinda thought that's what toys were meant to be used for. Of course, he went through the edges as  he chewed them with his back teeth, so off they went to the pile to be...

Sophie And More

Image
Last weekend we had this lovely Sophie. It was only two nights but we all just fell in love with her. She's a two year old Poodle/Yorkie and full of energy, but loves napping too. When we were looking for a dog many years ago, this is more what I had in mind; a lap dog. We were blessed with Nellie though and I wouldn't change that for anything. Maybe that's why I'm drawn to black dogs with beautiful brown eyes. Wednesday we got Miss Energy Pants Layla back for just one night. I just don't know how that much energy can be packed in one dog! But dang, she sure is cute. My head may be still but my tail is a waggin' Very early Thursday I left to see Charley and Abbie again for the second time this year. I usually take their owner to the airport. She said she'd rather pay me than a cab so I had to be at her house by 6:30. Other than their use of potty pads, they're pretty easy to take care of. Yea Charley, she's eating again  I made ...
