Just So Much

Image
I'm sitting at Murray's now until Wednesday and it's nice to relax here. On Thursday I was supposed to start at Steve's but he had to cancel his Hawaiian cruise. He gets these muscle issues which temporarily paralyzes him and so he's scheduled for an MRI. He felt bad for his wife and for us, because we'd be losing out on a job. He said he'd send us a gift card to a restaurant to make up for it. I feel bad that he isn't feeling well, but I had really fit him in and it would have been difficult for Faith and I to do it, and I had been stressing about it.  The extra time will allow me to work on the kitchen more. I have the wallpaper up and will start on the counters next. I bought a cute mug rack to get the table cleaned off but that only took care of 12 cups. I guess we have too many! I brought up a tv/microwave stand from the basement to put the extra cups on as well as the air fryer. It's not like I'm really cleaning out, I just brought in anoth...

Meet WillieJ

I met WJ last summer, but that trip was cancelled and I haven't been available until now. Before I say nice things about him I'll tell you that I knew of him a few years prior. I usually walk by Jane's house and we chat often. A cat of hers was killed by an off leash dog which ran to the front porch and attacked the kitty. Jane doesn't care much for the male owner but his wife is a good friend. Her friend is WJ's mom. I kind of put 2 and 2 together as we met last year. He now gets walked on a leash, as he should. So far I haven't had any issues with walking him as long as I'm aware of my surroundings. He would much rather lie around though. Really, he sleeps all day long and will walk if you initiate it. That's where he does his business too, so I have to be out the door by 8:30 a.m. They walk him 3 times a day but I only do two and then take him to the back yard before bed. the first night I had trouble getting him out; had to bribe him with a treat. ...

Get Back To Work

I have thoroughly enjoyed my time off. Some of it was planned but some wasn't, but I didn't stress about it like I would have in the past. I did 4 days of drop-ins for Julie the cat lady and all was good. The kittens are gone so it was much easier. One older kitten was back because it's owner had to move and couldn't take the cat, so Julie took it back until she can find a home for him. Three are still outside but can come in if they want.  I spent part of Easter with Romeo. I've stayed with him a few nights in the past but it's been awhile. Next month will be a longer stay so I'm glad I had the opportunity to hang out for awhile before then. He had a busy day yesterday and was pretty tired. I was too, so this was our day. Tomorrow I'll start a 10 night job for a dog I've met but haven't sat for yet. They live about a block away and that will be very handy to come home for things if I need to. For an entire month I will have no days off at all, g...

Toxic Boss

Image
Faith and her co-workers have sure been having a hard time lately, and it's all due to one of their bosses. When Faith started a year and-a-half ago, the 2 women bosses were newish owners and everything was fun and exciting. They had a nice crew and worked well together.  One boss, Danielle, got burned out and took a step back from surgeries to do more work on the admin side of the business. That has snowballed into getting behind on surgeries so she's decided to start again instead of hiring another doctor. One doctor who has been there so long doesn't do surgeries, only room appointments; but she's the best. She was Nellie's vet for many years and primarily sees Abe now. But the other owner, Olivia has been so hard to deal with, people are bailing left and right. One girl who's only been there a month is starting to look for another job. One girl put in her two weeks notice due to her own problems and because she cried, she was able to stay for the two weeks. ...
