Oh Bearsy.....

Image
This has been a rough week. Bearsy has been one of the toughest dogs we've ever had to deal with. After his pee frenzy, I put a belly band on him. I'm always reluctant to tell the owner if we're having a problem but it needed to be addressed. It's hard for owners to understand that their dogs can sometimes act differently at someone else's house. Plus I'm sure it's stressful for him because he's never stayed with anybody else and just moved from California, about a week prior to his Mom leaving. I know he's an older man but this isn't incontinence; it's like he doesn't even care where he goes. His Mom suggests to letting him stay out longer so he has more time (we did). Take him out more often (we do). Use a leash on him in the house so we know where he is every moment (we did NOT). I'm sure she noticed our house is small; we know where he is, he's just very sneaky. So if he's awake, he goes out every hour and-a-half and the b...

A Walk And A Bear

Image
On Saturday it was a little cooler than it has been so we took a little drive and walked around Turnbull Wildlife Sanctuary. It's been awhile since we've been here and although the water was quite low, it was still a nice walk. I had hoped to see more wildlife but you have to get there early in the morning for that. I'm working with a new camera because I was hoping to get out and about more. It has a great zoom on it but I just can't hold my body/hands still enough to get a clear pic. A dad with his two daughters That evening this little guy showed up. His name is Bearsy (12 y/o Pomeranian) and will be with us for a week. He's stayed at his home with a sitter before but never away from home; plus they just moved to town. I'm sure I'll have more to say about him next week but already he has peed in the house 3 times, sigh. I'm sure he's stressed, but dang that part of the job is getting old.

Proud To Be A........

I ordered these T-shirts for Faith and I last week. I may not be able to protest anywhere in person but I can still support the cause. I have never in my life sent a donation to any politician but I happily did immediately after Biden announced Kamala Harris to be his running mate. I felt excited and hopeful about the future for the first time in a very long time. If you want to order any  type of Nasty Woman T-shirt for yourself or a woman in your life, there are many to chose from here:  https://buff.ly/3ixOqZu It was hard to make a decision but we chose these. I then ordered this mug for Tony; I'm sure he'll love it. So we're doing what we can and hoping for the best to bring us back from the Hell we're in.

Quarantine Rambles

Image
When quarantine started about mid March, I noticed how driving habits changed. First, cars were kind of scarce and when you did get out, it felt strange. Accidents were down because driving was too. Then I believe people started thinking that if the majority of workers were staying home, police officers must be too.  Speed increased next since the cops are home (snort) and there's not many people out driving, so why not? We live next to a high school where the speed limit is 20 all day long during the school year. No school--no need to go 20. Thirty is the limit now but I often witness 35 on up. Several times I've seen racing, since it's a two lane-one way; cars and motorbikes alike. The other day I was coming home from an eye appointment and going 30 on a well traveled 2 lane street and this young girl actually passed me! Even when I go a few mph over the limit there is always someone who feels I'm too slow and they ride my tail or do anything they can to get around me...

Look What I Gotz!

I'm still sleeping in our basement and love the cooler atmosphere but I miss not being able to have an open window. I've been wanting to have an egress window put in for awhile so we finally took the plunge. We had a great company come out and two young lads worked in 90 degree temps for 8 hours to get the job done. They allowed me to pop in now and then to take a picture; this is kind of an abbreviated version. I felt pretty guilty just sitting around watching people work as we've been doing so much around here by ourselves. I really really really love it! I chose a painted interior of the window well instead of the old fashioned silver or white and I've put some of my rock totems down on the bottom so I have something nice to look at. I've ordered curtains because it's a bit too much early morning light for me. I got them up already and they work great. This girl in the window well turned 25 on Saturday. Ye Gads, how did that happen? We had some pasta for dinn...
