I have finally had all of my scans and started PT. I'm blessed with fatty liver disease, very common my doc says, just eat better. Oh Jebus, like I have not been trying. My physical therapist says I have abdominus recti; a condition where the abdominal muscles spread apart during pregnancy and sometimes do not go back together. If PT is introduced soon after childbirth, it could have possibly be fixed, but 31 years later?! I had recently noticed it while trying to get out of bed in the morning, thinking I had one hell of a abdominal muscle. It happens to men too so that's why I'm going to show you a man gut and not my own. It doesn't hurt but it's gross. She also said I have a significant hernia and should try to get into see my doctor asap. She's had to modify some of my therapy so I don't strain any abdominals which is hard if that's what we're trying to correct. I was able to get in to see her and she said I have 2 hernias, abdominal and umbilical...

Emotions Riding High

It's really tough to write this because I just don't want it to be true. Julie, cat woman extraordinaire passed away on the 7th after being on hospice for just a few days. The odds were against her from the beginning because her cancer was so rare and the best place for treatment wasn't covered by her insurance. That didn't stop her from being positive and in a fighting spirit until the end though. I found out on Saturday that her mom passed just a week later. Damn. Her neighbors were watching the cats, but had to go out of town so Faith and I took over for five days. It was strange and the house was eerily quiet. I'm glad she got home for awhile to spend time with her kitties.  I'm not sure if we will ever see them again, but I am hopeful. The neighbors said that Julie's ex husband (a realtor), will sell the house and take the cats with him, although only 3 will be kept. The oldest daughter asked if we wanted Amelia, the shy one. It broke my heart to say no...

A Big Thanks

I have to give my friends (married couple) a big thanks for taking care of Abe while we were gone. He's a challenge I know; being more interested in food and not playing. Playing only comes way after he's sure there is no more food available. But they hung in there and said they will even watch him in August when we go on vacation. But just look at what he made for me. NO ONE has ever made me anything (except family), and I think it's just the coolest thing ever! It's an ornamental only bird house made out of computer parts. I was just getting ready to put out all of my mom's painted birdhouses for spring when they came over, so I put it right in the middle. The best of old and new! My cousin came over for their grandson's baseball game, right across the street. Tony and I went for awhile and he brought some old pictures so I could scan them and order prints online. Scanning helped clean them up a bit so I hope the prints come out well. The last 2 pics on last w...

I Made It!

After 3 weeks of working with just one day off, I made it to the end. Luka is always great and we were able to walk everyday, so the week went fast and was easy peasy.  We just got home from Cashmere yesterday and it was the most fantastic weekend ever! We planned to meet at a restaurant in town. There are not a lot of restaurants in town so we able to walk to it from the motel (which sucked by the way.) It was non stop talking about all the relatives; we filled our bellies and hearts. You know all the people on the right. Directly across from me is my cousin who is the same age as me. For some reason I thought he was older. Next to him is his sister, one year older than us. Her husband is next to her and my cousins wife at the end. We all waddled off in different directions with plans to go to his farm the next day. Their daughter went camping over the weekend so wasn't there. It was her that I was going to give the pear painting to, so I decided to give it to her parents instead....
