Girls Weekend

Image
On Friday, Faith and I left to spend a couple of nights at Lake Chelan, in the same motel we all stayed at 4 years ago. We've both been working so hard and needed a little break. Our room had a great view of the lake and surrounding mountains. The first thing we did after checking in, was take a walk on the Chelan Riverwalk Loop which is about a mile over the the river using 2 bridges. It was so darn windy but still pleasant enough. After that, we went out for pizza. Saturday we drive to Cashmere and hit up the usual Applets and Cotlets store, although did NOT buy as much as usual. Then we went to a place we've always driven by and said, someday......but hadn't yet. Apple Annie's Antique Gallery has 70K square feet of rows upon rows of mind numbing eye candy of all sorts. We didn't buy much but still killed almost 2 hours and had a great time. I did buy this one little sign; because well, it's me you know. There were so many fun things to look at, but here are s...

I left Ivy's at 9 am on Thursday because Tony had an appointment in the morning. My brother and his wife were supposed to be home by noonish but because of a technical problem with their plane, they missed it. That dominoed throughout the day and they didn't get home till almost midnight. Good thing her brother lives right next door and was able to pop in all day to check on her. I worked around the house to get ready for my next stay, then made dinner early so I could get Tony to his Titration Sleep Study. I stayed for a minute while she was trying on different masks and it was very apparent that he will need a full face mask. I was back up early to leave the house by 5:30 to get him. His results won't be known for a few weeks, then another week to wait for deliver of a machine.  Thursdays and Fridays were made for grocery shopping and laundry it seems. Saturday morning I had to be at Romeo's by 9. There was a little break in the rain so we were able to take a walk. Th...

Clearing The Jungle

I finally got around to trimming the trees on the side of the house. Two were easy and two were bigger and took longer. In all it only took me 2 days with a break in-between. I used hedge trimmers, small and large sheers, and my favorite mini chainsaw (and Advil). We filled 2 green bins already and probably have at least 5 more to go but it will take time to cut everything up. Now they should be good for another two years. Before; a hot mess. Snip, snip, hack, hack, buzz....... The aftermath, it's like we grew an extra tree. This week I'm staying at my brother's house taking care of their dog Ivy. Faith has stayed once but this is my first time. She's a cutie and enjoys her walks. She's also a beggar of meals and likes treats better than dinner. That's probably like 90% of all dogs, right?
