Feel Like Complaining

We have finally been challenged with the worst boarder ever. We met Sage a few months ago, not through Rover. I also have a Google business page, linked to my Rover page so people can read my bio. At the time we met her she was probably only 8 months old but would be a year old at the time of her actual stay. She was pretty wild, jumping on the couch and us and we thought she'd mature a bit. We did do one trial night and it was rough but the longer stay was only a week away and we felt we couldn't cancel at that time. I was away for half of her stay and I feel bad my family had to put up with her because by the time I got home I was not loving her at all. I can't believe that kids here will be heading back to school in a few weeks. How did I miss summer? I book my dogs so far out in advance, it seems I'm living more in the future. I just booked a dog for July of next year already! We've hardly spent time in the backyard enjoying the quiet, with no extra traffic and parking surrounding us. Our garden is not producing all that well. We only had two cucumber plants make it and so far one visible baby on it. We passed on planting beans again and have gone once to a farm to pick some. We planted 6 tomatoes and had 100's of volunteers come up. I thinned it to 3, and hopefully we'll have a decent bounty of all kinds. I can do so much with them, ranging from sauce to dried. I just had my 4th session with my Physical Therapist and haven't been taping my foot for 3 weeks now. My foot is stiff/sore when I get out of bed or after sitting, but no actual pain. I'll go back for one more in a few weeks but it will probab...

The second part of this project was to start laying the cardboard in the farthest corner of the yard. Lay some cardboard, dump some chips; over and over again. We got the smallest side done in a day, it took about 5 hours. The other side of the yard is bigger so after another 5 hours, it was only about 3/4 of the way done. Finally on the hottest day of the summer we got it finished in 2 hours. We thought we might have some chips left over for some of the flower beds in the back yard. I don't know how we did it, but we used every single chip in the front yard. It wasn't planned, we didn't have to skimp on areas; it just worked out that way. We were so happy because we knew we didn't want to shovel one more thing! Now we can rest for about a month and let the garden do its thing. When were getting ready to haul our chips to the front yard, I got a dog request just for the day. The couple was from Seattle and staying in town for the weekend. They wanted to go to a water park in Idaho for the day. I have never taken a last minute (one hour) notice or watched a dog without a meet and greet. But I could tell she was a sitter herself and her dog has been sat before by other people so knew it would be fine. Charlie was pretty nervous about being deserted with these strange people but we made do. We took turns outside so he wouldn't be alone, or had him come outside for awhile with us. The only issue we had with him is when he finally started playing, he would get overly excited and start humping me. And boy, they get really strong when doing that !
