Feel Like Complaining

Last Thursday Faith and I flew to Seattle for a girls weekend.  We stayed at Belltown Inn, which was walking distance to pretty much everything we wanted to see. The motel was decent but overlooked a major corner of noise and homeless people so we just made a point to be back before dark. Getting to the motel from the airport was interesting. We walked about a hundred miles to the light rail station, then rode to the drop off station downtown. It was about 6 blocks to the motel and our room was actually ready before noon which was great. After some rest we headed to Pike Place Fish Market.  This is the famous gum wall. If you have a germ phobia, this probably isn't a place for you. We had a great seafood meal before heading back to the room. My new phone has a night setting so we went to the rooftop one night. Kind of impressed! So how is the bathroom coming along you ask? Mr. Handyman was going to have a sub contractor do the taping and mudding but he just wasn't available. We contacted the guy who helped us haul in our vanity and at the time he said he could do remodels. I wasn't so sure at the time but finally I conceded to have Tony call him and he came over and went to work. Since we had the plumbing/electrical done properly, Ian could finish everything else. Paying $100 day is much better than $1500+. Oh, there I go being a cheapskate again. Nothing is picture worthy yet but he did get the shower panels in yesterday. There was a lot of careful trimming and compensating for everyone else's mistakes so it took awhile. Now Mr. H. is calling to try and schedule things and I'm like, let's just wait and see. I've decided to make some changes to my pet sitting. The more I thought about opening up boarding to new clients, the more stressed I became. We decided to do the opposite by closing down boarding all together and opening up sitting to new clients again. Mainly there are two reasons for this. Dogs peeing everywhere has gotten out of hand. There are a few older pups that are incontinent and that is tolerable. Others just mark their territory or are nervous. Either way, I just can't deal with it anymore.  The other reason is Abe. We've found that 95% of the time, dogs either don't like cats or Abe is the bully to them. He's older now and very hard to contain to a bedroom for days on end which creates a lot more work for us. We do have some favorites that are indifferent to cats. I've messaged to tell them what's up and that they are still welcome and to call me first so I can set it up.  I realize that this will create more work for me and less time at home bu...

 A couple of weeks ago I had a 'thing' cut off of my shoulder/neck. I've had it for years but it just bugged me so my doc took it off. I had 4 stitches and realized I've never had stitches in my life. Plenty of staples from my surgeries but no stitches. I kept asking Tony and Faith if they wanted to pet my spider because that's what it looked like, ha. It feels so much better already, no constant rubbing on my clothes and itching. After so many rounds of antibiotics, Abe was just not progressing so Faith took him to work to do a nasal flush. After they put him under, they were going to intubate him when they found this 'dangler'. No flush was needed. The poor little guy had a growth in the back of his throat, which probably goes up higher too. The vet cut off what she could reach and Faith said it was the size of the end of her pinkie finger.
