Dodged The Bullet For Now

Tony has been seeing a cardiologist for about 3 years now. He's taking medication to regulate his heart rhythm and has regular echo cardiograms. His most recent one showed a bigger change in his aortic valve than the one from a year ago. We met a new doctor this week who explained that it's not severe but heading that way and he is estimating that in 1-4 years he will need a valve replacement. They more than likely will use the TAVR method--trans catheter aortic valve replacement. We watched a YouTube video at home and it's so fascinating how they thread a catheter into the groin, all the way up to the heart, and plop the new valve right in place without removing the bad one. They usually wait for symptoms to appear first before doing surgery so for now he will continue to have his echo's every 6 months and just play the waiting game. He also has left branch bundle block meaning he has a better chance of needing a pacemaker down the road too. Oh, and he also has t...

I'm home; finally home after 17 days! It was a good stay overall but I had 3 dreams that I was in my own bed thinking I should get up and tend to whatever dog we had with us. I guess that means my bed was comfy? The weather was so good, Sasha and I got in two walks a day. That prevented us from getting too bored. Plus, I only have to shovel once; just a tiny bit off the sidewalk. This was definitely a bonus! Not only did I get paid my new fee, he gave me a $50 tip. I guess it pays to stand up for yourself. He has been so much nicer and respectful of my time; which in turn makes me want to do a better job. Faith and Tony took care of this old shy girl, Dixie. It took her about 3 days to venture onto a lap but overall I think she did pretty well. I came home when she got picked up and I never heard such commotion. I didn't think she could even bark! Some dogs get very excited. I do hope she can come back sometime though; and her mom left a great review. Twice this month we...

Right now I'm sitting for Sasha again. This will be my first time back with 10$ a night more. I'll be here till mid December so that last day with check in hand will be a good day! My new leash works very well for her too. I use her own lead because she likes something longer so she can roll around in the grass. We have no snow yet so that makes it easier to get out with her. camera shy Tony had a repeat dog that we liked the first time, so we thought it would be easy for him. When we first had her, she was a new rescue and although it took her a day, she fit right in and did great. This time, I could tell that from the time they walked in the door, she was NOT happy to be there. She didn't like us, it was hard to get her outside, then back in. I was afraid she would jump the fence; she was that wary of us. If we were sitting, she would come to us for pets. As soon as we stood up, we were the enemy. It was mostly Tony she did not like and since Faith and I were gone, ...
