Feel Like Complaining

The last few weeks have been easy peasy because we had Chico with us. The time went by so quickly as he's a joy and it doesn't seem like work. The weather was decent enough that we could take walks almost every day. One day we ventured out to Pet Smart to stock up on dog treats. The little buggar barked at other dogs and people that would walk by. Of course the store was busy as a training class was beginning to start. Faith and I quickly grabbed the treats and I had her take the naughty boy back out to the car because he took offense to a much bigger dog getting in his face. It wasn't the outing I was looking forward to and we definitely wouldn't do it again. But at the end of the day when he's all cuddled up in my lap, it's all worth it. I resisted joining Pinterest for several years. I just didn't see what the big deal was and really didn't need another time waster in my life. Little did I know; I really DID! I shared Faith's account just to find rock painting ideas but after awhile wanting to add more boards, I got my own account. Other than rocks, I've been looking at other painting ideas. These are still rocks, but mounted on a board and it hangs on our front door. I thought this idea was so cool and unique and was a lot of fun to do. I re purposed an 8x8 pre-printed wrap canvas and covered it well with Gesso first. The tree is done with a hot glue gun, then Gesso again so the paint will stick to the glue. Then gold goes over it all and after that is dry, a watered down black. You wipe away as much black as you want to get an antique look. Last week we had Pele back; the 10 year old tripod. We haven't seen him since April of last year. Then he could still go for walks with a few rests along the way and would enjoy a game of tug. Since then he's has a partial cruciate tear in his only remaining back leg. He's on pain meds, a kidney diet, and his activities are really limited. If the tear goes all the way, his owner will have no choice but to have him put down. It was kind of difficult to have him here. Poor guy is so darn bored and can't do what he used to do. He doesn't play with toys. He hates his food, had diarrhea almost the whole time, and needed help getting back in the house. He knows we have neighbor dogs and every chance he got he would drag himself to the fence to fight with them. We had to drag him back, all 90 pounds of him. January started off with a bang and we've already had many repeats. So far we have seen Kona twice, Sadie, Dora and Peanut, and Chico.
