Feel Like Complaining

I'm glad you enjoyed my Mom's memes. She still doesn't know I have a blog but I don't think she would mind that I shared them. I'll continue to save them and post when I have enough. Here's some more funnies for you. I belong to a Facebook Rover Sitter group and we talk about anything from asking for advice, venting about dog/client behavior, or the occasional funny story. Some days you just need a good laugh! Sorry, they are a little hard to read.

My Mom has taken her internet usage to a new level; making her own memes. She finds pictures online and adds her own text. I don't know how she comes up with this stuff, but here they are. At least it keeps her busy and out of the bars, ha!

After we had the Great Dane, a repeat came for a few days. We had watched Sophie a whole year ago and she is such a sweetie. She loves going for walks but is probably not used to very long ones. We were almost home and she begged Faith to carry her the rest of the way. Who could resist this face? Then I was back with Anna for a couple of days. She recently had surgery to remove a few cancerous tumors and just had her stitches removed. It didn't seem to slow her down much and we were able to do walks just like usual. On our last walk before I left I rolled my ankle, walking on a nice flat surface. I don't know how it happened and yes it was my injured foot, so believe me when I say that it hurt. I iced it before I left for home though, and I'm back to limping. Yea me. Last weekend, I was back at Luna's who I just stayed with over the 4th of July. It was a pretty short stay so I enjoyed that. Progress? I guess we have some. All rocks have been gathered, and then some. Faith and I measured out a 5 foot diameter circle. But knowing that we'd be building inward/upward in the circle, it didn't seem like it would be big enough. We then went to 6 feet and laid out our base. So far so good. Then, we started filling up the circle--with logs, old rugs, some rock, old wood planter box, sawdust, and anything that takes up room but is earth friendly, so no garbage. There was one particular alley that Tony and I were going through to pick from a pile of rocks. I would say it wasn't from the best part of town but hey, free is free. In the same alley we found a bunch of very old sod; how perfect for filler! In go rocks and sod to the back of my car, what a mess. The sod now goes into the circle and it's starting to look like a giant fire pit. We started adding more dirt and an extra layer of rock. This is where I made a critical mistake. After Sage left, we took a day off and went to a small little town near us called Medical Lake. All the years we've lived here we have never gone into town, only driven by it on the freeway. All I ever knew about the town is that it houses a mental hospital. The hospital opened in 1891 and was actually called Eastern State Hospital for the Insane. At that time, anyone who was not 'normal' ie: alcoholics, criminals, depressed, and mentally retarded were all housed together. I remember in high school we took a field trip there to a part called Lakeland Village which housed just the mentally retarded. To say the least it was creepy and depressing. But I digress, that's not why we went there. We went to the lake and had a nice walk and a picnic. The name of the lake came from local tribes who believed the waters and mud had healing properties.
