Chugging Along

We're all moving in slow motion this week. Tony's feeling a little better every day but it sure is slow going. Faith doesn't have a kidney stone after all; she strained her intercostal muscles after trying to use a jungle gym at a park a few weeks ago. People over 6 should not try this, ha. Her new employer has kindly allowed her to start after our vacation. I just feel like I have this gross cold that doesn't want to go away and now can't smell or taste anything. I hope that doesn't last long because it's a very cruel trick to play on a chubby woman who likes to cook and loves to eat.... AND who's going on vacation in 6 days! Not cool Rona, not cool. But it has given me more time to paint. The ocean is calling to me... This is Natural Bridges in Santa Cruz, CA. We went there in 1985 with Mom and I ran across the pics she took in her things. I can't believe she kept them after all this time. Tony wanted me to paint this on a rock. I got these ideas ...

Happy, Sad, and WTF

OK, for all of you who want to know if Faith got the job---yes she did! Part time to start, two days a week. She will probably stay at the clinic for awhile too because she really likes the people and the work there. I am so proud of her for knowing what she wanted, and being determined enough to stick with it to get the training at the clinic. She did get a nudge or two from old Mom to inquire about a job there, which did set things in motion to put in more hours. She'll start on Wed and her normal days will be Mon/Wed. Imagine my surprise then, when she came in the door crying after leaving the clinic. It was another check up day for Abe and even though he has gained a little bit, he tested positive for FIV or FeLV. Two vets each said one, so we're not really sure. Even though they get used interchangeably, they are different. He was negative when he came in but hadn't been tested since. We knew something wasn't right with him because he slept all the time and stopped...

Be Still My Heart!

As I looked across the street one day I saw this truck and first thought it was just another sub renter moving in. But then I realized that they usually come with all of their crap in garbage bags; and that this big beautiful truck was actually there to take them away.....ALL OF THEM! Finally my dream has come true even though it took about 10 years to arrive. I gleefully watched them load up the truck, hauling stuff out of the back door, then the front. They will probably leave the rest of this stuff behind for someone else to clean up, like the slobs they have always been. Since it's a HUD home, it will be interesting to see what happens to it next. But for now I am on cloud nine! Another very cool development happened last week. Faith is still interested in working at the clinic but another woman that works there told her that there were a lot of Vet Assistant jobs available right now elsewhere. Faith quickly updated her resume through Indeed and applied to one place but got a r...
