From One House To Another

Image
I got home on Friday morning from Dixie's, and was at Romeo's the next morning. This is a shorter stay, only 5 nights, but boy I feel like I've been away from home forever. The logistics of packing/food wasn't as hard as I thought it would be. Ever since I booked it that way, I've been stressing as usual. I just packed clothing for both stays separately, and then left mostly everything in my car except food. The loading in/and out of houses is the hardest, but even at 67 I GET SHIT DONE! Dang, I was so upset that Malcom-Jamal Warner and Ozzy died last week. I really enjoying watching Blackish, especially the little history lessons in the beginning of the show. And Ozzy, just his name speaks for itself . I loved Black Sabbath and the occasional time I could catch The Osbournes. I've been listening to his music a lot since. Worse, is that the big Orange Goon is still living.   A picture of behind the fence, finally. All of the little seeds I planted did not come u...

Tidbits

I went back to Dixie's on Thursday, for a total of 9 days. You know what that means; 9 days of pool time for Kden! They have all kinds of floating devices and I go in the deep and do some exercising. I miss the good old days of water aerobics.  Dixie still loves her walks but it's getting harder for her. Her family bought her a stroller, so we walk to her favorite bathroom spot, then ride around a bit before going home. Driving Miss Dixie! Check out this snake handler. She's doing so much more at work, can now fill prescriptions,  and even got a raise a few weeks ago.  I decorated my cpap machine. I figured since we're going to be bff's, I may as well make her pretty. Her name is Windy. Lastly, a sad bit about a fella that died doing what he loved.

Tree Trimming and Curly Locks

Don't you just love my titles? It was time to tackle trimming some trees; maybe too early, but I had the time. I did the one on the right by myself. Faith helped me do the baby in the middle and we started on the other big one. Hopefully I can finish it today; I'll just have to start earlier because of the heat. Our little garden sure loves the heat though; we've picked one zucchini so far, but the cukes and tomatoes will not be far behind!  Ok, are you ready for this transformation? My hair has gotten long enough, that I just couldn't do anything with it, so I had a bright idea to get a wavy perm just to give it some body. The girl explained that since it was still short to put large rods in, that it would be more curly, not wavy. I almost decided against it because I didn't want to look like my mother, ha. She was able to get a slightly bigger size on the top and even though it's so different, I love it! Faith has never seen me with curly hair in her entire li...

Wasn't Expecting That

Yesterday was Mom's birthday so we took flowers and a balloon to the cemetery. After we left the house we could see a big plume of dark smoke further west. When we got there, we actually had a better view of it; a wildfire across the river with visible flames. It had only really started when we spotted it the first time. They had 3 fire bosses that grabbed water from a nearby lake and 3 helicopters with buckets that used the river. We saw them make pass after pass dropping water.  We tried to get a closer vantage point but it wasn't possible, but we did see a heli with his full bucket of water flying low about a block away; very impressive. Several areas had levels 1,2, and 3 level evacuations, but they were lifted by evening. The fire was kept at about 50 acres with no loss of buildings. We were just surprised at how quickly all the help came together and being able to watch it. Right by the gravesite, there used to be this little turn around circle with a very ugly brick plan...
