Feel Like Complaining

This past week I've been at Romeo's. I've only done short stints up to this week so it's given us more time to get to know one another. His moms are up super early and walk him by six, while I'm barely rolling out of bed by then. When he hears me stirring, he jumps on the bed and becomes my snuggly alarm clock. After my coffee, breakfast, and shower, he starts following me around; like hurry UP lady! He's a bit of a puller so I brought my waist leash apparatus and it helps a lot. We do one large square block and that seems enough for him. I'm supposed to play with him a few times throughout the day but I just don't think I'm doing it right. He doesn't fetch, it's more like a chase game, but he still looks at me like I'm stupid so we both eventually give up.  That's really the only issue I have, other than he barks at the fence a lot when people walk by. This has been a journey for sure. Some fun, some tear and cussing provoking. I only ordered 2 wallpaper samples, but I had my mind pretty much set from the beginning of which one I wanted. It's shades of gray and white although it looks greenish in some pics. I started with the strip around the top and had to run the pattern sideways just because it would be easier; but the way it's made you can't really tell. Then gray blinds went up; they were a bear because of our plaster walls and the newer style of brackets. But once they were up, the blinds just snapped in place.  I put more wallpaper on the back wall and long cupboards.  The counter and back splash was done in sections and was so darn hard! As much as I tried, there were bubbles and creases. Some parts of the paper didn't roll on the peel-off part evenly, so there was excess that I had to cut a slice into to overlap it. It's hard to believe that we haven't been anywhere in 8 months, so we decided to get out on Friday because Faith had the day off. We wanted to go to the Sweet Creek Falls rest area where the falls is just a short walking distance away. She did some research on a trail website and it was discovered that the state has razed much of the trees and the trail was in a lot of disarray. Not so good for a dude with a walker.  We changed our location and were ready to head just over the Idaho border to Corbin Park. We've been there several times and it's just a nice area on the edge of the Spokane River. Faith woke up that morning with the worst migraine she's ever had so she took an anti-nausea pill (left over from her surgery), and went back to bed for 3 hours. It's been an interesting week for Faith and I. She got sick about a month ago and had a bad cough for a few weeks at the end. Once in the past when she coughed for a long period of time, she strained her intercostal muscles. She could feel some of that going on in the front, then her side started hurting.  Saturday she was in a lot of pain when she got up so we were thinking of options of where to go. Our Dr.'s office doesn't have walk ins anymore, but same day appointments instead. She called and got one for the afternoon, so I thought, heck I may as well make one for myself. I had burned my hand on the broiler element in the oven on Monday. I have touched the rack before but never the element; I saw smoke! I iced it for hours and it felt good the next day. As it started to heal, I alternated bandaging it, then letting it breath. The burn itself was doing fine but the surrounding areas was starting to hurt and swell.  I made my own appointment, right after hers and we went...

We have finally acquired a handyman worthy of a post all to himself. Handymen are under rated but really necessary to those of us who are not very handy and have multiple tasks that need doing.   Our patio cover had seen better days and was leaking in several spots. I did not want to go to Craigslist or Nextdoor for this; too many bad experiences. I've had an account with Thumbtack for several years and did my search there after a contractor gave us a bid for 2500.00. I mean really, it's only corrugated PVC, not imported Chateau style Slate. I began with one guy, who although has only been in business for himself for a year, he has been doing this type of work for a long time. He took a look and gave a bid of of under 300.00 for labor. We bought the panels and he picked them up. His wife helps with bigger jobs and they finished in about 4 hours. He charges a flat 55.00 an hour which is fair for someone that can do it all.  The next job he did was to open up my washing mac...
