Feel Like Complaining

We had two repeats with us over the weekend! Other than a one night stay with another dog, this is the first in 2 months. Charlie and Angel are getting more comfortable with us; Faith and I anyway. Dogs become more comfortable with those that interact with them the most. Since her and I do the feeding, outside time, and general play, it's us they gravitate towards. It was really nice to have them with us; I almost forgot what it felt like to have a dog. So far June is totally empty, then those that haven't cancelled have filled up July and August. Other than that....who knows. Phase 2 has opened in Spokane but I'm in no hurry to get out and about. Yesterday Faith and I went to the cemetery, then walked a trail behind it. It was one of Nellie's favorite places and just long enough to be enjoyable. I enjoyed the peace and quiet of it all. We've had a lot of rain so nothing got done in the yard. I feel so boring just talking about the same old things; that's why I didn't post last week. We did have a returning dog for one night last week. It felt weird but good at the same time. Her first visit was at the beginning of March and I didn't even get a chance to write about her. Lady was a lot more playful and fun this time but also a little more mischievous. She likes to play with balls but she got fixated on this tiny piece of driftwood that we use for a doorstop to our bedroom. It fits perfect under the door. She just HAD to take it out and use it for a chew toy. Even though she doesn't play with stuffed toys, she found a dog toy stash in the closet and kept going in there to find something new to NOT play with. She kept us quite entertained and it was nice taking a nap with a little doggo on my lap. What's new with the yard reno you ask? I know you did; I heard you. Our mail order spring plants still have not arrived for the shady part of the yard. ...

Our garden is coming along but slower than I would like. The hardscape has been easy, having finished lining the rock path with rainbow pea gravel. It looks pretty spiffy I must say. We bought a small bistro set and it fits perfect, just as I had imagined. Although not as bad now, I have pain and muscle spasms from my low back down into my feet. I spent one afternoon high on muscle relaxants lying on the floor because it hurt to sit. The plants however have been a total pain. It seems like everything I did want has not panned out. My very first purchase last fall, the Apache Plume, seems like it was dead. Upon further inspection I can see about 1/4 inch of green toward the bottom, so time will tell.
