I've been on Instagram for about 6 years now and although I don't post a lot, I do have several favorites that I follow. Many are fellow sitters, it's nice to see lots of animals. Some recipe pages, but mostly low carb now. A couple of cat foster pages; love seeing all the babies and watching their journey. Some San Francisco pages; still enjoy looking at pics and videos; especially places I've been to. A few bird pages; because who doesn't like a pretty bird. Several rock painting pages so I can save and use them for inspiration; because obviously I have no original thoughts in my head. Also, several photography pages. mercurystardusttopz, A trans woman who gives tips on how to fix all sorts of things and wrote a handy ma'am guide for renters. I'm not sure why it's just geared to renters because I believe everyone could use a little help. I bought it for Faith (and maybe me) for Christmas and it's a thick hardback, not a wimpy how-to catalogue. She ...

Fat Boy

Faith took Abe to the vet last week because she is leaving (the same office Faith left), and wanted to get him in before that. Can you imagine a vet who started there right out of school and has been there over 20 years, now feels the need to leave because of the toxicity from the owners. She's already got a place to go but will enjoy the holidays with her family.  We were making guesses on how much Abe weighs now. Tony was the closest, as he weighs in at #12.25. I told Faith we all get fat in the winter! I was quite shocked though and Doc Crystal says cut back on the treats. Honestly he only has about 3 a day and his dry food is low calorie. He gets a small spoonful of canned food for dinner too.  We've started cutting back his dry food now and he's going bonkers! He licks the top of the container it's in. I had to hide Dixie's food this week in the oven because he gnaws on the containers. When I try to feed her in the morning, he jumps on my back from the counter ...

Pushing The Seasons

Over the weekend we put up our tree and all of our Christmas decorations; the earliest we've ever done it.  Dixie will be here today for a week, and I'm leaving for Steve's in Airway Heights a day after she leaves on the 21st. His first trip will be a long one and I'll only be home for a week before his second trip starts. I'll finally get to come home for good on Jan 1st. We've just learned to adapt and do things when we can. We'll have a scaled down Thanksgiving dinner this weekend.  I swear Faith brought everything up from downstairs, including some things of Mom's I hadn't seen in a long time. It was a good time to get rid of things too, so we cleaned out as we decorated.  When we put the tree up, Abe was more interested in watching leaves blowing around outside during a windstorm. He hasn't caused too much trouble, just a little branch chewing and trying to get the pearly buttons off of the skirt. He even slept under it last night.  So enjoy...

It's Hard Coming Up With Titles!

On Halloween we took a little drive to Kodiak's house. His parents put on a big display every year; you could say they're quite obsessed with Halloween. I don't know this year's tally, but they usually get 350-400 kids and hand out full sized candy bars. As soon as I turned the corner to their neighborhood, there was so much traffic including cars and kids. Luckily I found a spot to park right across the street from their house.  Kody was outside, but corralled because it's too much stimulation for a young boy. He was sure glad to see us though. I wish I had gotten more pics but was so astonished by the crowds. They had an archway at the end of their driveway and it was made in sections of a very hard plastic. As Tony was walking by it, some little kid gave it a tap because it was hard, but didn't realize it would come tumbling down.....right on top of Tony's head. I didn't see it happen but I heard the commotion and the mom of the kid asked if he was al...
