Storm Before The Calm

Image
September was a very busy month for me with a total of 7 nights with Romeo, 5 nights with Teddy, 8 nights with Kodiak, and 5 days of drop ins for Julie's cats! Most were back to back, with only 5 days off the entire month. I was grateful, although tired, to keep busy and will make tomorrow even more satisfying. We're flying to San Francisco a day early because it was a better flight option. We'll stay the first night near the airport, then head to our final destination the next morning. I won't have my computer so will probably wait until we get home to do another post because I know you will be so excited to see if (and how) we survived.

More New Art

One thing I've always wanted to try is watercolor painting but it seemed so daunting. My mom always wanted to try too, so I thought I would make a go at it for both of us. It's very different from acrylics and since that's what she mostly did, it may have been harder to make the switch. Me? I know nothing about either so that didn't make it any easier.  I watched A LOT of videos on Instagram and Pinterest, which only made me want to do it more, but also frustrated that I couldn't do it. I started small because I wanted to use them for my Art Abandonment and didn't want to waste large pieces of paper by having to throw them away; which I did plenty of. It's all just a bunch of doodling and practicing techniques. I did pay for one small course and I've finished one session so far; night skies. These are 8x10. I've already discovered that I need more brushes, larger palette of paints, and patience. The last one is what I need the most of.
