Feel Like Complaining

I was back at Dixie's this weekend, and my CPAP machine and I took our maiden voyage together away from home. Since my cleaning day (of all parts) falls on Saturday, I had to take everything needed, plus distilled water. It's more to pack and a pain in the butt, but I don't have a choice. I made it to my 3 week trial and it's going ok I guess. Some nights I sleep great and other nights I just can't get comfortable and end up taking it off about 4 am. I guess it just depends on how tired I am to begin with.   My hose is on top of my head and I've read about people getting hair breakage, so I bought a sleep cap. With that, all the equipment and my face mask, I look completely sexy ridiculous....but at least I can laugh about it. I asked Dixie's mom if I could use the pool and she said yes but I couldn't get the cover to retract. She said it had worked the day before. I was so bummed, I literally cried. On Friday we went to Medical Lake for a picnic and a walk. It was so cold and windy though, that we froze our butts off eating lunch, then got in the car and went home. We tried again on Sunday, sans the picnic. It was very quiet and peaceful with only the sounds of birds and angry squirrels. Families of geese had their children of all different stages of life, ready to take on anyone who got too close.  There was a lone Osprey high up on a tree with its nest nearby on a light pole. A little deer also made an appearance. We've never actually been to the end of the path; we usually just walk for a half an hour or so, then turn around.  So that was our weekend, not too exciting but it was still nice to get out.

On Friday we took a drive to Hawk Creek Falls; about an hour-and-a-half from home. It feeds from the Columbia River. It's not a huge falls and we couldn't get out to the middle of the water to take pictures but it was still pretty and basically at the end of a parking lot.  We had lunch, then walked around a bit. There is a small campground which only has 20 spots available, but it looks very peaceful and quiet. If you don't fish though, there's not a lot to do and the water was too low to even get boats in. A kayak is your best bet. Because Faith and I always want to get closer to take pics, we had to get down a tiny rocky hill. We left our walking sticks at home which was a big mistake. More things going on in the yard. I'm not sure if I've ever showed you our Gooseberry bush. When we have a rainy spring, it really looks great and produces well. There is even new growth shooting up through the middle. I'm guessing when I say this bush is 40+ years old; but could even be older. The fruit won't be ready until after the 4th of July, but that's when we start checking for ripeness.  This is the Honeysuckle that Faith and I chopped back this past fall. It really took off and will bloom very soon, and fill in that bare spot again. These things are hard to kill!  My first solar light was this lighthouse, standing about 2 feet tall. I loved it so much that we'd bring it in over the winter and Tony would even bring it in the house when we went on vacation so no one would steal it. This past weekend I was at Dixie's house. We've decided it's best for me to be there, rather her at our house. I'd much rather pick up poop off their deck than in our house. Although she does have a doggy door, it's a long walk to the lawn. Poor old girl is 17 now and her back legs give out often. She can't hear and sight is limited other than large forms; so I guess she can see me! If she's awake, she likes to follow me around the house.  I opted to sleep in the master bedroom because that's where she sleeps. I've peeked in the room before but not actually been in it. Oh My Lord! I had forgotten how big this place was. The walk in shower is the size of our entire bathroom. The bathroom is bigger than our kitchen. Their bedroom is larger than our living/dining room combined. King sized bed with a Saatva mattress. It wasn't super comfy for me but the massage settings are divine.
