Driving Miss Kden

My second eye surgery was last Monday with a follow-up on Tuesday and I had the best chauffeurs for both days. First I asked my friend Sue if she could take me on Tuesday because Tony had to take Faith for her appointment. Despite a little bobble in directions, we still made it on time and then went out for lunch afterwards. We try and get together a few times a year so this worked out perfectly. It was really nice to catch up and we realized we've been friends for close to 30 years. She worked in an office supply business next door to where we used to live and it was very handy to make copies when I needed them. After I had Faith and we moved to another place she came over to visit. She was looking at some pictures on our mantle and recognized my older brother and said she used to date him. What a small world!  One of my favorite clients, Margie (owner of Murray the cat) and I have become friends and text each other often. She asked if I needed a ride to my surgery appointment so ...

Keeping Busy

Since I'm not taking on new clients for awhile, I have more time to get caught up with things I've been 'meaning to do'. Finally I painted the inside bathroom door and trim. The trim had wall paint on it and I told Ian I would do it; that was well over 6 months ago. The hallway also had some scrapes and dings from the carpet installers. At least that's who I'm going to blame. Now I'm itching to do something with the kitchen. Nothing major; I can't deal with major anymore. I took down the curtains and am going to start with total wall cleaning. Then I've discovered peel and stick wallpaper! It will just be for accent in some areas, not the whole kitchen, because our walls are very strange. As much as I would love to paint the counter, it takes days to dry in-between each step. Abe won't stay off the counter for more than 5 minutes so that isn't an option. But.....they also make peel and stick covers for that too. Oh my head is spinning with po...

YOU get a surgery, and YOU get a surgery

What a wild day it was! Faith took the day off to take me to my appointment. After we got there the first stop was an exam room to get my eyeball 'mapped' for the Toric lens. It has to be placed in a specific point on the eye, so they dilate/deaden it and take a marking pen and put dots on the eye. Next from the main lobby waiting room, we were taken to the the surgery waiting room and she couldn't go beyond there. I was taken to the pre surgery area where several people were sitting around in different stages of waiting. From what I can remember it went something like this:  I had my BP and temp taken and given a name tag with lots of different numbers and info. Sticky pads were put on my hands to hook up to a monitor later. I was given some eye drops too. After that, my purse and coat were taken from me and locked away. In another seat I waited a long time; such a long time in fact, I thought I had been forgotten in the corner. Finally the doctor stops by to introduce him...

Just Memes

I don't have the brain cell capacity to write anything this week so I'm going to leave you with memes from our Spokane FB group. It was hard to stop at just a few!
