Oh Meow

I wasn't even going to do a post this week because I just stayed with Julie's 4+ cats over the weekend and nothing exciting usually happens. I was really looking forward to just a easy peasy stay and enjoying the solitude.

All of the Tuxedo kittens have been adopted.....but the mom is pregnant again. It's so sad when owners can't take responsibility for their animals. Julie is also helping another stray who hangs around, by getting an infected tail fixed. She took him to the vet, got him bandaged up and is keeping him inside until it heals.

But of course she didn't tell me until after I'd arrived that he was in the house. Hiding and wearing a cone, I saw him briefly come downstairs to use the box. He does not like being inside! Very early the next morning, he tried to make an escape out a bathroom window. I had opened it before I went to bed, not knowing he would see that as an invitation.

Even though  the bathroom is right next to where I sleep, my ear plugs block out a lot. What woke me up was the sound of scratching at a door. I finally got up to see the bathroom door shut and the other cats freaking out. I opened the door to find Mr. Conehead in the window and the full effects of his failed attempt at escaping.

A plant on the floor with dirt everywhere, even in the sink. I sighed and left the room to start my coffee. The first cup I grabbed was this one. OK cup, if you say so. I think I need this in my life!

She was going to have her cleaning lady come over and help me but I just did it myself. It didn't take me long and I didn't feel like waiting around. The night before I left he came downstairs to hang out with all of us and it was so sweet. He also worked his cone off during the night and when I got up and saw him, I wondered who in the heck he was! I really do enjoy staying there, it wasn't always fun in the beginning. Now it's interesting to see what new she will be bringing in. Mr. Conehead says hi.

Mr. Conehead would be a great name for a cat. I think I might need something stronger in my coffee if I had to deal with all of those felines. You earned it that week.
