Oscar
Oscar's family lives in another state and was coming here for a wedding so we weren't able to have a meet and greet. I rarely do that but again, cuteness won and I said yes. He's an odd combination of Dachshund and German Shepherd. He didn't like Tony at all that first full day, barking whenever he stood up. But by Saturday his attitude was better and he was a lot of fun. He absolutely loves running around in the snow.
Snow you say? Yes mother nature blessed cursed us with 6.7 inches of snow Friday. We knew it was coming so the day before Tony and I put the last of summer things away and we were prepared. But Holy Heck being prepared does NOT mean that we're ready for it. Our Oak tree has barely started dropping leaves and the snow made it droop so low. Faith banged on the limbs Friday night but within an hour they were covered again. Saturday morning was a bright sunny day and the shoveling began. With the sun and a little wind, the tree started looking normal again. I guess we better get used to it though, the word is it's going to be a hard winter for us Pacific Northwesterner's.
Mom will possibly going home this coming weekend. They will be assessing her in a few days to see if she's ready. She's been working hard on stairs because all she wants to be able to do is get up her back steps. I got a call on Saturday and was told that one of the staff members tested positive for Covid. Although this person has no direct contact with Mom, they are now on lockdown and she can no longer go to the gym; that's where the stairs are. So many frustrations there and she's very much looking forward to getting home.
