A quick update about Tony, he will be having a pacemaker soon. Doc said it's not urgent urgent, but would like to have it done asap. At one point when Tony had the monitor on, his heart stopped for 7 seconds when trying to regulate the fast rate he has at times. That's probably the feeling he's been having for a long time and it was never caught with just a regular ekg. As is the norm, doctors have no idea how busy they are because someone else does the scheduling. His nurse said he's scheduled out to September but she would try to squeeze him in. Oh Boy. Being back with my kitties was so awesome! Faith took the first three nights and as I was getting ready to make the switch with her, she said she had a bad Vertigo episode. I switched some things around and brought Tony up so he could drive her home. The next morning, she was sore and tired, but was able to go to work. A dang miracle is what that was! Miss Riley wasn't too sure of me for awhile. She can hardly see/...

Boy, Was I Wrong!

Yea it happens, occasionally; when I said Tony's heart monitor wouldn't really pick up what he has been feeling for quite awhile. Whether the two are correlated or not but about a day after he had been hooked up he got a call from his heart Dr's office. This was not from a button push on the monitor (which he did), but they told him that his heart rate had dropped very low and they wanted him to make an appt with another Dr. in the office that puts in pacemakers. He made the appt., which was a ways out, then got another call to move it up closer. So that's where we're with that! I had all my labs redone because the Jan. ones were high in everything. They were no better, in fact they were even higher. I'm officially diabetic now and the nurse called me and said, no changes in meds, just keep doing what you're doing. Hold the phone lady,  I am not doing NOTHING about this. I told her what my doctor and I discussed so I have a phone appt with her later this mon...

This boy got an upgraded food/water station. The food station has fixed some of his issues since Faith has it dropping food at 4:45 and 5:15 am. He has not busted into my bedroom since. He also hasn't thrown things off of tables and counters (as much anyway). In the afternoon she had it set for 1:30, 2:00, 2:30, and 3:00. Another problem has arisen though; he's started throwing up more and it's mostly food. Faith talked to his vet and we're going with the easiest possible solution first, by making his last drop later in the evening. She thinks there's too much time between the last feeding and breakfast and he eats too fast.  That theory worked great for two mornings, then he let loose like he'd been waiting to show her!  Now her and his vet will have to figure out the next step This is where he perches while waiting for something to happen. We are European now; I wish we had gone European a long time ago. The instructions were easy to follow but it was still ha...

Doozy Of A Weekend

Friday afternoon, Faith and I left for Odessa. We ended up taking her car because mine was in the shop, with it's ongoing problem. It was already hotter than Hades and her car never really cooled off. We packed some food for our dinner because there is NO restaurant in that town! There was a small gathering at a classmate's house to set up tables and chairs for Saturday but I didn't feel up to it. We just stayed in our air conditioned room for the night. Saturday morning, we had a little breakfast that we had brought. My brilliant daughter brought oatmeal packs but no spoon so she had to scoop semi firm liquid with coffee stir sticks into her mouth. I had brought our mini Keurig maker, but it failed to brew. The water got hot but no brewing happened. Having to make the crappy motel coffee just sucked. I took it outside anyway and enjoyed the morning under a shade tree. I could smell real brewed coffee close by and I saw a woman come out of her camper with a beautiful pot of...

The Shop Is Open

I'll write about my class reunion next week, but I wanted to share something first. I had been seeing a lot of ads for Big Cartel, a place you can sell your wares, without the big cuts taken out by Etsy and other selling platforms. I decided to go for it; first going with the free version, then went up to the first level of paid one.  It was not easy; much harder than setting up a blog. There were so many aspects, such as pricing, taxes, shipping, etc. I needed help with the AI chat a few times, but it was always helpful.  I've been adding my paintings slowly and have many more to go. That involves measuring, then figuring out the price using pre determined standards. Most importantly, I will have to keep painting! Take a look; I hope you like it, and please feel free to share! Food, Tattoos, and Frivolity

Last week was pretty busy leading up to the day of my birth. Wednesday my friend took me out to lunch at Red Lobster. It was the best meal I've had in a long time. She really spoils me; and her and her husband are some of the kindest people you would ever meet. They're the ones taking care of Abe for our vacations, and not being naturally born cat people, they are enjoying it. Probably because he's not a turd with them, ha. Friday, my dear daughter and I went to get tattoos at a place she's been to before. It's a really nice shop and has won several 'best of' awards for Spokane. We just wanted simple line works to represent San Francisco. We've been wanting to do this for a year-and-a-half and she finally made it happen. Both of them only took an hour and were pretty reasonable. I could totally do more of this style, didn't hurt at all. I've mentioned that our new neighbors manage a restaurant downtown. I told her my birthday was coming up and sh...

The Boy Is Five

Image
Abe turned 5 over the weekend and is still doing well health wise. My mental health regarding his weirdness is still suffering.  He can still break into my room at 5 am, no matter what configuration of baby gate placement I can come up with. Faith and I discovered that he has acquired another habit, only in my room though because of the easy access.  We were in my room one day and noticed that 3 photos on my wall divider were curled up like  cigars. The only way a photo curls is by being exposed to moisture. I put them in a drawer under a book not knowing the cause. A day or two later when he was trying to get me up, he was at the end of my bed reaching up to lick a photo. I had another cat that did that, but didn't realize it was a 'thing'. One of the reasons a cat does it, is to seek attention or stress relief. I believe that fits him to a T! It's just another thing added to the list of things he does to drive me crazy. I'll show you some pictures now to counter b...
