Potatoes Gone Wild

Science Experiment. Leave a few potatoes in a box in the basement and see how much they can grow. These were done on purpose, but a few years ago I had forgotten about a few and the roots got to be about 4 feet long before I discovered them almost growing out of the closet. I then laid them on the kitchen floor and when my husband walked in, he thought we were being invaded by giant potato spiders.

Comments

I have found a few of those in my veggie drawer in the kitchen. A potato makes a run for it and hides in the back of the drawer.

Great photos. My new son-in-law actually BOUGHT A BOOK on how to grow a potato bonsai. Can you believe it?! I think I'm going to try to sell him a few acres of good swampland I've been holding onto...

Interesting science experiment. I wonder if it works in all kinds of climate or just yours... I live in a tropical country.
